Avoid Phishing Scams

Phishing scams are designed to trick you into sharing your personal information, such as login credentials, credit card numbers, or other sensitive data. Here are some tips to help you avoid falling victim to phishing scams:

👉 Always check the sender’s email address to make sure it’s legitimate before clicking on any links or attachments. If you receive an email from a company or organization that you’re not familiar with, be suspicious.

👉 Before entering any personal information on a website, make sure the URL starts with “https” and has a lock icon next to it, indicating a secure connection.

👉 If an email or message requests immediate action, such as asking you to update your password or provide personal information, be cautious. Check the legitimacy of the request before responding.

👉Keep your operating system, web browser, and antivirus software up-to-date with the latest security patches.

👉 Enable two-factor authentication for all your online accounts whenever possible. This adds an extra layer of security to your login process.

👉 Avoid using public Wi-Fi to access sensitive information or make financial transactions. Hackers can easily intercept your data on unsecured networks.

👉 Use a password manager to create unique, strong passwords for all your online accounts. This helps prevent hackers from accessing multiple accounts with the same password.
